With only one week to go to The Scott Trial, our organising committee and marking out teams are very busy getting everything ready for the big day.

We have some very special items lined up for this year’s Charity Auction, which will be held prior to the Results and Awards Presention.  Please remember that we have a change of venue for the presentation this year, which is to be held at Richmond School main hall on Darlington Road, where there is plenty parking in the school grounds.

The Scott Trial Committee would like to thank everyone who has donated or promised items for this year’s charity auction.

We have a very special and unique opportunity, which is sure to attract some interest – Ciceley Motorsport have generously donated a VIP pass for two people to join race winner and championship contender Adam Morgan and his Ciceley Motorsport Team as VIP Guests at any round of the 2019 British Touring Car Championship.

If you are unable to attend the charity auction on Scott Trial evening, we will be taking reserve bids for this and any items by emailing secretary@richmondmotorclub.com

We are also extremely grateful to Edinburgh and District Motor Club SSDT Committee, who continue their support again by generously donating a guaranteed and paid up entry for next year’s 2019 Scottish Six Day Trial. http://www.ssdt.org/  Entry for this trial is much sought after, so this is an excellent chance to gain a guaranteed entry.  Again, if you are unable to attend the auction, reserve bids can be taken by emailing secretary@richmondmotorclub.com

EDINBURGH & DMC’s PRE ’65 SCOTTISH TRIAL COMMITTEE  have also very kindly agreed to give a guaranteed entry for 2019 Pre ’65 Trial (guaranteed entry only, not paid for – the winning bidder must pay for their entry and please note that the criteria for entry and machine must be fulfilled).  If you are unable to attend the auction, don’t miss out,  reserve bids can be taken by emailing secretary@richmondmotorclub.com

With just under 3 weeks to go, Scott Preparations are well on the way, especially as the trial is a week earlier this year (13^th October 2018).  Once again we are not emailing out the numbers and final instructions this year, but you can download a list here:  2018 Scott Trial Rider Numbers and Times  Please take a good look at the list of riders, numbers and start times to make sure that you know what time you are setting off and to get the right number on your petrol cans.

Also please make sure that you read the Final Instructions – this is very important as there is essential information to make sure that you know exactly what is expected on the day etc, and they have changed from previous years.  When signing on you will be asked to sign saying that you have read and agree to these instructions:  Scott Trial Final instructions 2018

Finally don’t forget that the Official Scott Trial Programme will be available on Saturday 29^th September so make sure you get yours (riders you will get one in your rider pack on the day).  It contains loads of great articles, spectator information and maps of where to go to get the best out of your day and all proceeds will go to The Scott Charities as usual.

The programmes will be available at the start-field on the day and from the usual local outlets prior to the event. These include: Richmond Petrol Stations; CJ Tennant, Richmond; Neeps & Tatties, Richmond; Smith and Allan, Darlington; Piercebridge Farm Shop; AG Bikes, Low Row etc. plus all the usual Reeth outlets. Priced at £5, all profits made from the sales, as usual, will go directly to The Scott Charities.  Not going to be at the start-field or in these towns?

Youth Annual Awards Presentation and Christmas Party Sunday 2nd December 2018  Richmondshire Cricket Club.  Family fun for all including quiz, games, bike balancing with AG Bikes and a visit from Santa.  4.30 for a 5pm start, food is provided for RMC youth members.

Landowners Lunch – Sunday 9th December 2018 Tennants, Leyburn.  An opportunity for the club to host a lunch to show our gratitude to the landowners, farmers and gamekeepers who give us their continued support throughout the year.  Invites to follow in due course.

Adults Annual Awards Presentation  Friday 18th January 2019 Wensleydale Rugby Club, Leyburn – a different format this year on a more casual basis with pie and pea supper.  Watch the website for more information and tickets.

The ballot for rider numbers has taken place and we will be releasing the numbers, start times and final instructions in the next couple of weeks, so please keep an eye on the website for all the important information.

As the countdown shows its now only just over 34 days until this years epic Scott so we hope all the training is going to plan!

The Official closing date for this year’s Scott entries is today, but we have 10 spaces free if you would like to put in a last minute entry!  Please email scottsecretary@richmondmotorclub.com if you would like to book a place.  You will need to be quick though as it’s first come first served!
